Versk Spelman (Värsk Spelmän), is a family of Swedish folk musicians
who have Performed in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Sweden.
The name comes from the farm in Western Dalarna, in Sweden called
Versk - Värsk (See picture above) where Carolyn’s father was born and
Raised.
Carolyn began playing Swedish fiddle music with the ASI Spelmanslag in
1987. Antonio was performing with the group in 1990 as a 6 year old.
Annika joined shortly after. The two were original members of the
ASI Lillaspelmanslag,(children’s group), when it formed in 1993.
Annika lead that same group from 2003 to 2008.
Thomas joined the Lillaspelmanslag with his guitar and now performs
With the adult group.
The family enjoys expanding repertoire of their Swedish heritage and
Sharing their music as a family!
Versk Spelman has played
On Several stages in Sweden.
They have performed in
Sälen in Western Dalarna,
Sunnansjö outside of Ludvika,
In Dalarna, Gammalstad,
Luleå,In northern Sweden,
Alvdalen, Siljansnäs, Rättvik,
and Skansen, in Stockholm.
